Recipes

Everyone needs to post the recipes when they make something yummy for the snacks.

  2. EZ Banana Pudding
    1 pkg Instant Banana Pudding,
    made as directed
    1 small carton CoolWhip
    1 box Nilla Wafers
    3 bananas

    *Gently fold CoolWhip into banana pudding. Layer this over wafers and banana slices. Keep refrigerated...

  5. 7 Layer Dip (really 8 but who's counting?)
    16 ounces refried beans
    1 package taco seasoning (mix together in bowl, this is your first layer)
    8 ounces sour cream
    8 ounces guacamole
    8 ounces salsa
    4 ounces shredded cheese
    chopped tomato
    chopped greeen onion
    sliced black olives

    This recipe can be doubled, you do the math. =)

  7. I didn't bring this, but it is one of my favorite receipes.

    Blackeyed Pea Cornbread

    Mix together:
    1 cup cornmeal
    1/2 cup flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon soda
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 cup buttermilk
    1/2 cup corn oil

    Then add:
    1 onion, chopped
    1 jalapeno pepper, chopped (or more)
    3/4 cup cut corn, drained
    1 pound browned sausage

    Add last:
    1 cup cooked blackeyed peas, drained
    1/2 pound cheese, grated

    Pour into well greased pan - thickness 1/2 inch to 3/4 ". Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

  8. Mandarin Orange Cake
    1 pkg yellow cake mix
    ½ cup vegetable oil
    4 eggs
    1 can (11 oz) mandarin orange segments, undrained
    Pineapple frosting
    Heat oven to 350 ̊. Grease bottom only of rectangluar pan, 13 x 9 x 2, with shortening; lightly flour.
    Beat cake mis, oil, eggs and orangesegmets in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed 2 minutes (do not overheat). Purt into pan.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Run knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Frost with Pineapple frosting. Store tightly covered in refrigerator.
    Pineapple Frosting
    1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
    1 pkg (4-serving size) vanilla instant pudding/pie filling mix
    1 cup frozen (thawed) whipped topping
    Stir together pineapple and pudding mix (dry). Gently stir in whipped topping.

  9. I dashed into the dollar store grabbed 2 bags of chips along with 3 different types of dips, plastic spoons, plates, and napkins.

  10. Brandi made the Green Eggs and Ham

    3 pretzel sticks
    1 green M&M
    White Chocolate or Almond bark

    Line the pretzel sticks up on wax paper or foil (they are to look like bacon).

    Drizzel a blob of white chocolate onto the pretzels (it is meant to look like egg whites).

    Place the M&M on the white chocolate quickly before it hardens. (For a better presentation make sure the M&M is face down...meaning the M is not seen, it is stuck to the white chocolate).

    Repeat the process until you run out of Green M&Ms.

  11. The Cake Balls are a recipe from Bakerella.com (she is amazing)

    Cook one cake mix according to the directions. Let it cool completely. Crumble it up into crumbs.

    Mix one can of cream cheese frostng into the crumbs. Roll into balls (or use a mellon ball/ice cream scoop for more consistant balls.

    Chill in the freezer or refridgerator to firm before dipping.

    Dip into melted chocolate or almond bark. Put into freezer or refridgerator until firm.
