CAMT 2009

Hey guys, just a couple of quick questions for you to answer.

1. Is this your first time at CAMT?

2. What have you learned or is there anything we need to look into for more training?

  1. This is not my first time to go to CAMT. I enjoy going because I come back with so many good ideas for teaching, kind of like recharging my batteries.

I want to see Brandon's Guitar Hero presentation. The one on Thursday was packed and not everyone could get in. We are leaving on Friday before his second presentation so he really needs to present for us in class.

I went to a hands on geometry session that was great. There were some good sessions and some that were not so good but I'm still glad I came.

  2. 2nd year to go to CAMT but 1st year to present. I love everthing about CAMT except the amount of money my wife and I send!!
I got some very good ideas. STEPS (middle school) was some of the best, and learning about Dr. Frank Wang' fraction bars.
I'll do the Guitar Hero presentation when ever, but I think everyone is expecting something that its not.

  3. Yes this was my first year to go to CAMPT!! I really learned a lot and had a great time. I will be going back. Being a 4th grade math teacher I really loved Kim Sutton and Gayle Fuller's presentations. They were so up beat and informative. But, I do regret missing Brandons presentation!!!

  4. This was my first year to go to CAMT and spent Sunday thru Friday there. I got the full meal deal. I really enjoied learning formula proofs and hands on manipulatives. Brandon had people wrapped around the building waiting to get in both days (to the point a friend of mine pulled some strings and got him into a larger room the second day). I waited in line for over 90 minutes to get into his last presentation. He did a great job. Unfortuneately I will not be able to use guitar hero in my class. I have epilepsy and it is too much visual stimulation. None the less he is very tuned into what will draw his kids to math. Good job.

  5. I had a really great time at CAMT. This was my second time to go! I always come away with so many great new ideas that I cannot wait to get to use in my classroom. I also love all the networking and visiting with all the other teachers who are going through the same things and struggles I am...and successes! I missed Brandon's guitar hero too...but am looking forward to seeing it hopefully thru the trainings we get this fall!

  6. I am so glad that you all had a good time at CAMT. It looks like Brandon was a hit. I am sure that he will be willing to do his presentation during the fall.

We will have a meeting early in September, I have your Sketchpad software and I want you to have it at the start of school
